Job Overview
As a Data Modeler specializing in Azure, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining both relational and non‑relational data models.
You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure that data architectures meet business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models for both relational (e.g., SQL Database) and non‑relational (e.g., Cosmos DB) databases in Azure.
Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather and translate business requirements into data models.
Implement best practices in data modeling, focusing on performance, scalability, and maintainability.
Optimize data structures for efficient storage, retrieval, and analysis, ensuring data integrity and security.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data models, data flows, and metadata management.
Support data integration efforts with ETL tools and ensure seamless data movement across various systems.
Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in Azure data technologies, relational and non‑relational databases.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience in data modeling for both relational and non‑relational databases, particularly in Azure.
Proficiency in Azure services such as Azure Fabric, Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, and Azure Data Factory.
Strong understanding of database design principles and data governance practices.
Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) is a plus.
Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills.
Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with technical and non‑technical teams.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of cloud‑based data architecture patterns and data integration strategies.
Familiarity with Data Governance tools like Collibra and ETL/ELT processes and tools.
Experience in agile methodologies and project management.
