Job Description

SWDS Driver are responsible for delivering products to customers from Sherwin-Williams stores using company vans or pickup trucks. Drivers ensure deliveries are complete, packed correctly, and safely delivered to the correct customer. They are accountable for customer satisfaction and for transporting items in a safe, timely manner.

Job duties involve contact with customers, which may include minors, and access to cash and other payment methods, electronic equipment, personal information, store merchandise, and other items of value. The company conducts a criminal history review to protect its operations and reputation.

The selected individual will work at Store #701837, located at 142 Midland Ave, Port Chester, NY 10573.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure deliveries are prepared to meet customer requirements in the most efficient manner.
  • Load customer orders properly on the truck.
  • Complete appropriate forms.
  • Transport and deliver items to customers safely and timely.
  • Maintain the store vehicle and alert the supervisor to repair and servicing needs.
  • Provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and handle complaints.
  • Adhere to assigned routes and follow time schedules.
  • Abide by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record.
  • Prepare reports and documents relating to deliveries.
  • Operate equipment and machines such as cars, trucks, forklifts, etc.
  • Perform other store tasks, including warehouse duties, tinting, and mixing customer orders.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship.
  • Valid, unrestricted Driver’s License.
  • Ability to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. on occasion.
  • Willingness to work all scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • At least one year experience in delivery, retail, or customer service.
  • At least one year of work experience using material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
  • Previous work experience selling paint and paint‑related products.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in more than one language.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in Spanish.
