Role Description We are seeking an experienced
Head of Investor Relations
for a contract-based position with a hybrid work arrangement. The role is primarily based in Kirkland, Washington, with required in‑person collaboration and attendance at key meetings, as well as travel for investor engagements and industry events. Successful candidates must be able to relocate to or regularly commute to the Kirkland area and be able to commit to necessary travel.
This strategic role will drive Médina’s fundraising efforts, leading the identification, engagement, and negotiation with a diverse range of investors—including venture capital firms, angel investors, high‑net‑worth individuals (HNWIs), family offices, banks, and institutional sources. The successful candidate will also play a key role in preparing the company for future milestones, such as recruiting board members and positioning for an initial public offering (IPO). You will craft compelling narratives around our AI‑driven app and business plan to secure the capital needed for accelerated growth.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute a comprehensive capital raising strategy targeting venture capital, angel investors, HNWIs, family offices, banks, and other funding sources.
Identify, network with, and build relationships with potential investors, effectively communicating Médina’s vision, technology, market opportunity, and growth trajectory.
Lead negotiations for investment terms, ensuring alignment with company goals and optimal outcomes.
Create high-impact pitch decks, business plans, financial models, and presentations tailored to sophisticated investors.
Advise on and contribute to the recruitment of independent board members and advisors to strengthen governance as the company scales.
Provide strategic guidance on long-term financing pathways, including preparation for potential IPO or other liquidity events.
Collaborate closely with the executive team to align fundraising activities with operational milestones and overall company strategy.
Monitor industry trends in AI, cryptocurrency, fintech, and business automation to position Médina as a compelling investment opportunity.
Travel as needed for investor meetings, conferences, and networking events.
Qualifications
Proven track record of 10+ years in capital raising, investor relations, venture capital, investment banking, or related fields, with demonstrated success in securing funding from VCs, angels, HNWIs, banks, and institutional investors.
Extensive hands‑on experience as a founder, co‑founder, or early‑stage executive in building and scaling startups, including entrepreneurial achievements in entrepreneurship‑driven environments.
Direct experience taking companies through successful IPO processes or advising on public listings is highly desirable.
Expertise in sourcing and recruiting high‑caliber board members or advisors for growing technology companies.
Strong existing network of contacts among high‑net‑worth individuals, venture capitalists, and financial institutions.
Exceptional communication and persuasion skills, with the ability to articulate complex technological and business concepts to diverse audiences.
Proficiency in financial modeling, valuation, term sheet negotiation, and due diligence processes.
Familiarity with AI, cryptocurrency, fintech, or SaaS/business automation sectors is a significant advantage.
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced startup environment with a proactive, results‑oriented mindset.
Willingness and ability to work hybrid from Kirkland, Washington, with regular travel requirements.

Compensation This is an equity‑only contract position with no base salary.
