Salary Range The rate for a traditional 3 unit course is $9553.

Purpose The Department of Counseling Psychology in the School of Education & Counseling Psychology at Santa Clara University invites applicants for part‑time lecturer positions for 2025‑2026. The department has two programs, a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology and a Master of Arts in Counseling.

CPSY 315 - Family Therapy

CPSY 317 - Therapeutic Interventions with Children

CPSY 318 - Clinical Assessment I (DSM-V)

CPSY 319 - Clinical Assessment II

CPSY 320 - Substance Abuse Treatment

CPSY 321 - Dual Diagnosis: Diagnosis and Treatment

Basic Qualifications

Graduate degree in Counseling or Clinical Psychology

Preferred Qualifications

Doctoral level and licensed candidates preferred.

Responsibilities Teaching

Teach no more than two courses per quarter, and no more than four courses over three academic quarters (fall, winter, spring).

Conduct and appear at all assigned class meetings in a timely and prepared manner that demonstrates a command of the discipline and skill in presenting it effectively.

Assign and evaluate assignments that align with the course description and course learning outcomes, and provide timely feedback to students.

Hold regular weekly office hours on campus.

Submit student grades that are appropriate, accurate and fair measures of student performance to the Office of the Registrar by the designated deadline.

Administer numerical and narrative evaluations for all courses.

Teach from an approved syllabus or work with the Chair to design an appropriate syllabus.

Fulfill other academic duties as may be assigned by the Chair of the Department of Counseling Psychology.
