Job Title: Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) – Performance Automation
Job Location: Waltham, MA (100% onsite)
About the job you’re considering
This position requires an engineer with a strong background in Python and performance test automation. The ideal candidate will design and develop automated test suites to evaluate application performance on a Linux platform and use a Behavior‑Driven Development (BDD) framework to ensure quality and reliability.
Your role
Design, develop, and implement automated performance test scripts using Python to ensure comprehensive coverage.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand requirements and develop effective test strategies.
Maintain and enhance the performance automation framework and processes, including load‑testing framework.
Participate in CI/CD efforts to streamline testing workflows.
Document testing procedures, prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation of test cases and results.
Your skills and experience
3–7 years of proven automation testing experience, with strong understanding of the STLC and performance testing methodologies.
Experience designing and developing automated test suites (Linux & Python) for performance evaluation.
Ability to diagnose performance issues such as application speed (fps) and scalability.
Proficient in advanced Python programming language.
Linux OS experience (Rocky Linux 8.8 or newer preferred).
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Experience with CI/CD processes and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab).
Experience with test automation tools such as LoadRunner, JMeter, etc.
Master’s or bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, or equivalent.
Good to have:
Experience with Squish/Squish Coco.
Experience with National Instruments (NI) PXI System.
Knowledge of API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI).
Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
