Job Description

The University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL), a proud member of NCAA Division II and the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), is seeking a dynamic and dedicated professional for the position of Head Men's and Women's Cross Country Coach and Coordinator of Game Operations. This full-time role combines leadership of the university's cross country programs with responsibilities supporting the planning and execution of game day operations for the athletics department.

Primary Responsibilities:

Head Cross Country Coach Duties: Direct all aspects of the men's and women's cross country programs, including training, competition, recruiting, and student-athlete development. Foster a positive team culture focused on academic success, integrity, and competitive excellence. Oversee practice and competition schedules, travel planning, and budget management. Maintain compliance with NCAA, GLVC, and UMSL regulations and standards. Promote engagement within the campus and broader community through outreach and service. Coordinator of Game Day Operations Duties: Assist in the planning and execution of game day operations for home athletic events in winter and spring. Support event setup, in-game logistics, and post-event breakdown. Collaborate with facilities, officials, visiting teams, and internal staff to ensure smooth and professional event execution. Help coordinate staffing, including student workers and event personnel. Ensure a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for student-athletes, fans, and all stakeholders. Shift

Variable dependent on recruiting, practices and games.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in related/relevant area or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 6 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Experience coaching at the NCAA level Familiarity with NCAA Division II rules and recruiting procedures Demonstrated commitment to the academic and athletic success of student-athletes

Anticipated Hiring Range
