Employment: 3 months with a chance of extension

Shift: Day Shift | Monday to Friday | Part time not more than 20 hours per week

Pay Rate: $27.13/hr

Summary of Responsibilities The Temporary Disaster Recovery Coordinator I supports Arizona’s emergency management mission by assisting with preparedness, response, recovery, mitigation, logistics, and planning initiatives. The role focuses heavily on updating and developing recovery frameworks, documenting operational guidelines, coordinating assistance programs, reviewing cost documentation, and participating in SEOC/JFO operations as needed. This position requires strong knowledge of emergency management laws/regulations, excellent documentation skills, the ability to respond 24/7, and participation in training for SEOC roles.

Responsibilities

Support planning, coordination, and documentation across emergency preparedness, response, recovery, mitigation, logistics, and finance functions.

Update and develop the Arizona Long-Term Recovery Framework for Gila and Maricopa counties.

Draft, revise, and maintain emergency planning documentation reflecting current operational needs.

Collect and compile data, review cost documentation, and coordinate assistance programs.

Draft and review policies and procedures aligned with state and federal criteria.

Conduct on-site visits and ensure compliance with emergency management guidelines.

Attend workshops and complete required SEOC/JFO training.

Maintain readiness for 24/7 response and disaster activation.

Participate in continuous improvement through SOPs, root cause analysis, and performance metrics.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Must-haves

2+ years of experience in Emergency Management

Experience updating or creating emergency or disaster plans

Knowledge of emergency management regulations, laws, and federal/state guidelines

Ability to work in 24/7 response or on-call environments

Strong documentation, writing, and data compilation skills

Willingness to train for SEOC roles and respond to activations

Experience coordinating or supporting emergency programs

Skills Desired/Preferred

Experience with After-Action Reports (AARs)

Background in disaster logistics or finance

Experience working with local/state government emergency agencies

Certification(s): FEMA ICA, NIMS, CEM, AZ‑specific training

Experience conducting field assessments/on‑site visits

Experience with community recovery frameworks
