About The Job The Plant Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining site reliability by performing high-quality inspections, troubleshooting basic preventative maintenance (PM) tasks, and executing routine maintenance with no supervision. This role includes replacing basic components and assisting in minimizing unplanned downtime through proactive maintenance efforts.
What You’ll Do Safety and Compliance
Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, including wearing appropriate PPE, and following MSHA/OSHA regulations.
Maintain a high level of situational awareness to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of yourself and others.
Report any safety concerns, incidents, or equipment malfunctions promptly.
Equipment Inspection and Maintenance
Follow a preventative maintenance schedule for equipment to avoid unexpected breakdowns, which might involve component changes, tear-downs, and rebuilds.
Inspect and replace key components crucial for maintaining efficient plant operations, understanding how part replacement affects overall performance and longevity.
Troubleshoot the root cause of simple issues quickly and efficiently, fixing minor equipment issues immediately to avoid larger breakdowns and ensure minimal downtime.
Plant Operations and Maintenance Requirements
Monitor equipment performance, such as crushers, screens, and conveyors, to ensure equipment is operating at full capacity.
Review and update equipment logs to identify patterns in maintenance needs and determine if any equipment is being overused or consistently breaking down, adjusting the operational schedule or suggesting repairs before larger issues arise.
Qualifications Skills You’ll Need
Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in operations, preferably within the aggregate industry.
Certifications/Licenses: Valid Driver’s License.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong understanding of safety protocols and MSHA/OSHA regulations.
Strong understanding of plant operations and maintenance requirements.
Proficiency in conducting thorough inspections of all site areas.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic PM and maintenance issues.
Knowledge of component replacement and its impact on plant performance.
