We are seeking a dependable and detail oriented Lamination Associate to join our production support team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the application of fiberglass and resin to boat hulls and other components to ensure a smooth and durable finish, have a strong understanding of laminating techniques, and be committed to quality craftsmanship .
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare fiberglass, resin, and other materials according to specifications.
Cut and lay fiberglass cloth over molds or structures to specified angles.
Apply layers of fiberglass onto molds or directly onto boat hulls using various techniques
Ensure proper resin-to-fiber ratio for optimal strength and weight balance.
Inspect materials and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
Detect and repair defects in fiberglass or gel coat as necessary.
Clean and maintain tools, molds, and equipment used in the lamination process.
Ensure all equipment is in good working condition and report any maintenance issues.
Work closely with other team members such as designers, engineers, and boat builders to ensure efficient production.
Communicate effectively to resolve issues and improve processes.

Requirements
Proven experience as a boat laminator or in a similar role within the marine or manufacturing industry.
Strong knowledge of fiberglass laminating techniques and resin application.
Ability to work with various hand tools, power tools, and laminating equipment.
Attention to detail and the ability to inspect work for quality.
Physical stamina and strength to handle heavy materials and work in various positions for extended periods.
Good understanding of safety protocols, including handling hazardous materials and working in a workshop environment.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
You will be required to wear protective gear (gloves, goggles, respirators) as needed when handling materials and chemicals.
Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in various positions for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry heavy materials up to 25 pounds
Tolerance for repetitive tasks like cutting, laminating, and sanding.
Strong hand-eye coordination for precise resin application and tool use.
Comfort working in tight spaces or at heights.
Schedule Full-Time, Monday through Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm with occasional weekend assignments.
This role is based in a boat manufacturing or repair facility. The work environment may involve exposure to chemicals and fumes, requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
