About the Role

The Company is seeking a VP of R&D/Commercialization to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development of new food products from concept to launch, with a focus on formulation, shelf-life, and scale-up. This role requires a professional with a food science-related Bachelor's degree, culinary experience, and a minimum of 10 years in food product R&D, including at least 3 years in a Director or VP position. The VP will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that the products meet customer needs, are technically feasible, and are in line with the company's goals for growth and success. Key responsibilities for the VP of R&D/Commercialization at the company include overseeing the development of recipes, packaging, and processes, managing the R&D budget, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The role also involves providing technical support for production trials and commercial launches, driving continuous improvement, and staying abreast of industry trends. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in a relevant field, extensive experience in food R&D, including retort and RTH, and a proven track record in people leadership and project management. Strong financial, communication, and influencing skills are essential, as is the ability to be a strategic, creative problem-solver with a results-driven mindset. The role may require up to 20% travel.
