What You Will Do
We are seeking an Analyst , Airline and Airports to support our Airlines, Air Service Development and Aviation Policy consulting practice, to provide analytical expertise supporting our airline and airport clients, including network planning, market demand analysis and forecasting, and schedule analysis. InterVISTAS’ clients are airports, airlines, trade associations and investors seeking to understand, stay ahead of, and capitalize on the latest challenges and opportunities confronting the aviation industry.
Location of role will be US/Canada Remote or Washington, DC, Toronto, ON, or Vancouver, BC
Your Role
In this early career progression role, you will develop leading-edge analytics, reports, tools, and data-driven insights that underpin transformational airline network planning and analysis, revenue management, and air service development projects. Your deep quantitative analytical expertise will be relied upon by senior aviation executives across the industry. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to assist with business development, including proposals, client engagement, and product development.
Here’s what you MUST bring:
Undergraduate or Graduate degree in economics, business, commerce, statistics, transportation, and/or mathematics. Candidates with a degree in other disciplines with substantial quantitative and data analysis experience will be considered.
2 years’ experience preferred in an airline commercial function, air service development, or management consulting role in the aviation, travel or transportation industries
Very strong quantitative analytical capabilities, a passion for large data sets, and a data-centered approach to problem solving, as demonstrated through previous work and/or educational experience.
Experience with Excel modeling required, and Alteryx experience is highly preferred. VBA, SQL, Python, and/or statistics software, as well as using business intelligence platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for data analysis, aggregation, and visualization
Experience with airline network / revenue management data sources and modeling tools, including QSI, schedules, and demand data preferred (e.g., US DOT Data Sources).
Familiarity in airline route profitability systems, airline inventory management and/or pricing background, and/or understanding of airline fleet assignment principles
Strong writing and presentation creation skills that include report writing and developing captivating presentations
Passion for assessing and answering the “so what” from the analysis of large data sets and complex quantitative, iterative analysis
An entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to take on new challenges
Willingness and availability to travel up to 30%, as required by business need
Ability to work collaboratively in a remote work environment, as part of a cohesive team
What We Are Looking For
Strong interest in and knowledge of the airline and aviation industry, preferably including key airline competitors by region, and airline network commercial principles
Airline/aviation policy interest, and familiarity with current industry topics
Develop market analysis, route forecasts, passenger choice models, catchment area analyses, and network design to maximize financial return for client airlines and airports
Perform airport route studies to determine the strategic and financial viability for additional air services
Ability to translate airport, airline, and client positions into clear analysis
Provide airline revenue modelling expertise and develop models that account for passenger and non-passenger revenues, as well as direct and indirect costs
Develop aviation and route business cases and strategies on behalf of airport or government clients
Maintain reference market traffic and schedule data, and network modelling information
Build positive and durable working relationships between InterVISTAS and airline/airport clients.
Represent InterVISTAS and develop project solutions on-site with clients, as required by the project.
Other related duties as assigned by InterVISTAS leadership from time to time
Competitive salary: $65,000-$85,000 annually, with potential for discretionary bonus, based on performance. Actual compensation and title will be tailored to reflect the unique experience and qualifications of the chosen candidate.
