Responsibilities

Perform extensive financial & valuation analyses for debt and equity in mergers, acquisitions, and capital raising transactions.

Build advanced financial models and synthesize information to provide insights across client sectors.

Lead due diligence, research, and documentation of potential and live transactions, anticipating deal issues.

Participate in presentation development and hypothesis testing to communicate analysis results.

Create proposals and presentations to clients and prospects, showcasing William Blair’s IB product solutions.

Meet with clients and in drafting sessions to discuss financial analyses.

Research industry sectors and monitor key drivers to identify client opportunities and improve BIC content.

Identify process improvements and propose solutions for greater efficiency.

Take ownership of client relationships, fostering dialogue with finance and accounting staff.

Act as an on‑the‑job trainer for analysts, providing constructive feedback and ensuring quality deliverables.

Ensure compliance with applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Other responsibilities as requested by the team.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree required.

Prior investment banking experience required; 2+ years as an Investment Banking Associate strongly preferred.

Internship or prior work experience in financial services industry preferred.

Must obtain SIE Exam, Series 79, and Series 63 within 150 days of employment.

Detail‑oriented with strong analytical, mathematical, writing, verbal, and computer skills.

Adaptive to new tasks with little notice and able to manage expectations of senior bankers while working on multiple projects.

Effective leadership and coaching skills, with a strong desire to win.

Sound judgement, deep understanding of accounting and finance.

Commitment to satisfying internal and external customers.

Travel required: approximately 10%–30%.

Compensation Base salary range: $200,000—$200,000 USD. Eligible for discretionary annual bonus and/or commission‑based incentives.
