- Oversee day-to-day accounting processes, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger management, and payroll operations.
- Lead month-end closings and ensure timely preparation of accurate financial statements.
- Manage grant and fund accounting, ensuring proper tracking and reporting of restricted revenue.
- Develop and maintain internal controls, policies, and compliance standards.
- Coordinate audit preparation and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to organizational leadership.
- Support the budgeting process and monitor financial performance against projections.
- Identify opportunities to optimize accounting systems and processes for improved efficiency.
- Minimum of three years of accounting experience, preferably within a nonprofit organization, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of fund accounting principles and grant reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in nonprofit accounting software and tools.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience with financial statement audits and compliance.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
