eX² Technology is seeking an Applications Engineer to implement, maintain and optimize complex technical systems, including hardware, software and networks. The Applications Engineer will develop system specifications, troubleshoot technical issues, ensure system security and manage system lifecycle from conception to deployment.

Install new hardware, software and infrastructure components.
Monitor system performance, conduct regular maintenance and implement protocols for feedback and operational integrity.
Diagnose and resolve technical issues, provide technical direction and ensure rapid response to incidents.
Identify areas for improvement, automate tasks to enhance efficiency and conduct capacity planning.
Liaise with stakeholders, management, vendors and end-users to understand needs and facilitate solutions.
Job Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience.
Experience
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in engineering, computer science, information technology, information systems or related fields.
Experience deploying and maintaining infrastructure, including switches, routers and firewalls.
Experience deploying and supporting technology equipment and integrated systems, such as surveillance cameras, alarm/monitoring systems or IoT/smart city devices.
Background in cloud-hosted operating systems (Azure, AWS, or GCP instances) and hybrid infrastructure.
Practical experience with system monitoring and performance optimization tools.
Demonstrated ability to write and maintain technical documentation, diagrams and system schematics.
Experience with the installation and integration of technology equipment for enterprise or industrial environments.
Familiarity with data center operations, including rack/stack installations, cabling and system documentation.
Hands‑on experience administering and supporting Microsoft Windows environments.
Certifications (Preferred)
Network Infrastructure:
CompTIA network+ (Plus) – for essential networking tools and concepts.
HPE Aruba Certified Networking Associate (ACMA) – for switching, routing, wireless and edge networking.
Fiber‑Optic & Cabling Certifications:
BICSI Certifications (e.g., INSTC, INSTF, Technician, RCDD)
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
Ability to interpret and develop technical drawings, equipment layouts and system diagrams.
Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills with a focus on reliability, scalability and performance.
Design, implement and maintain secure, high‑availability network infrastructures.
Configure, troubleshoot and optimize routers, switches, firewalls and wireless controllers>
Conduct root‑cause analysis for network performance or security issues.
Document network diagrams, configurations and standard operating procedures.
Familiarity with optical power budgets, attenuation, dispersion and wavelength allocation.
Understanding of OSP (Outside Plant) and ISP (Inside Plant) fiber installation standards and best practices.
Knowledge operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and macOS, as well as experience with enterprise management tools.
Understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals, access control and data protection standards.
Awareness of emerging technologies, including IoT and edge computing.
Familiarity with structured cabling, AV systems and physical technology installation standards.
Experience with fiber enclosures, patch panels, trays and connector types, including LC, SC, ST and MPO/MTP.
Understanding how to plan routes, conduct site surveys and prepare accurate material lists for fiber builds.
Awareness of fiber testing methods, including OTDR, OLTS, light source and power meter.
Physical Requirements
