Position: Manufacturing Engineer II Schedule: Monday - Friday 1st shift Location/Division Specific Information: The Chemical Analysis Division (CAD) serves a wide breath of industrial sectors including pharmaceutical, food and beverage, environmental, process minerals, mining, coal, cement and metals, as well as academic, government, safety, and security. This position will be based out of our Tewksbury Plant in Massachusetts. How Will You Make an Impact?: You will use data analytics to identify and drive manufacturing and process improvement projects in our optical and elemental portable analytical products. You will also have an opportunity to lead internally developed and outsourced automation projects. Your manufacturing engineering experience, ability to solve issues and technical knowledge will help build a world class manufacturing organization producing our handheld diagnostic instruments. A Day in the Life:
- Operate as day-to-day manufacturing engineering resource for optical products
- Drive root cause analysis and resolution on production failures
- Develop process improvements driving operations cost savings and scrap reduction initiatives
- Partner with quality engineering to analyze nonconforming material, identify trends and develop action plans
- Support global manufacturing centers and act as engineering contact for optical contract manufacturer
- Participate in new product introduction development and launching into production
- Initiate engineering change orders to update/maintain documentation including work instructions and BOMs
- Train technicians during the implementation of new processes or products
- Design, develop and implement assembly/test fixtures to support production and automation initiatives
- 2+ years' work experience in engineering capacity
- Experienced with Excel and graphical representation of data
- Automation experience with UR robots or another a plus
- Multitask and complete tasks according to timelines
- Communicate and collaborate across multiple departments
- Knowledge of C# programming a plus
