Our client is searching for a Logistics Coordinator/Quality Inspector for their medical company located in Southwest Houston. This position performs cross-functional logistics and quality assurance tasks. The ideal candidate is organized, precise, and comfortable reading drawings and performing accurate measurements while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment. The salary range for this position is $47,000-$50,000 per year.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Receiving (Includes RMAs)
Receive and inspect incoming shipments of medical devices and components.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to verify conformance.
Perform dimensional and visual inspections using calibrated tools, recording data in both metric and standard units.
Log and organize inspection records, RMAs, and QA documentation.
Coordinate with Procurement, QA, and Customer Service to resolve discrepancies.
Shipping
Pick, pack, and ship domestic and international orders accurately and on time.
Generate compliant shipping and customs documentation.
Coordinate with carriers (FedEx, UPS, DHL) and track shipments through delivery.
Support shipment of materials and product displays for tradeshows.
Quality Assurance (QA)
Ensure all received, stored, and shipped products meet applicable quality standards.
Follow SOPs and Work Instructions precisely for each operation.
Maintain compliance with ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR Part 820, and company Quality Objectives.
Participate in internal audits, corrective actions, and cross-training activities.
Documentation and ERP Entry
Perform accurate data entry of inspections, shipments, and inventory transactions in the ERP system.
Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for traceability.
Support generation of inspection reports, RMAs, and inventory adjustment entries.
Collaborate effectively with other departments to complete shared tasks and resolve issues efficiently.
Requirements:
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks is a must.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications a plus.
Proficient in measuring and recording data in both metric and standard units.
Experience using precision inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Organized, reliable, and team-oriented with a proactive mindset a must.
Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) is a plus.
Prior experience in medical device, manufacturing, or other regulated industries a plus.
Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. and stand for extended periods as needed.
