Environmental Consulting Business Development Executive At Gallagher Bassett, we help clients navigate complex challenges with empathy and precision. As the Environmental Consulting Business Development Executive, you will drive growth and expand our market presence across New York City, the Hudson Valley, and the Southeast/Midwest as needed.

Overview The Environmental Consulting Practice provides services such as asbestos, lead, mold, indoor air quality, and hazardous building materials inspections in the New York City Tri‑state area, and subsurface environmental consulting in the Hudson Valley. Your role will focus on creating and executing sales strategies, building client relationships, and influencing strategic decisions through market research.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute environmental consulting sales strategies to identify new business opportunities and achieve revenue targets.

Build and maintain strong relationships with environmental prospects and clients, ensuring satisfaction through regular follow‑ups.

Conduct construction and environmental market research to identify trends and analyze data for strategic decisions.

Prepare, present, and negotiate service proposals and contracts to secure profitable projects (defined by >95% efficiencies in Unanet).

Identify and leverage cross‑sell opportunities for additional services from other business units (e.g., Safety and Investigations).

Raise awareness and reputation of GB Technical Services within your territory and the construction/environmental industry through marketing efforts.

Maintain, update, and track all sales activities, opportunities, companies, and contacts in Salesforce and Unanet.

Participate in regular sales, marketing, and business unit meetings to collaborate on current prospects and opportunities.

About You Competencies

Build and maintain long‑term relationships with real estate, developers, and construction managers.

Proven track record in sales and business development, achieving or exceeding targets.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Deep understanding of environmental, health, safety industry trends, regulations, and best practices, with knowledge of the NYC Tri‑State real‑estate market.

Strong negotiation skills and ability to close deals.

Proficiency in market research and data analysis.

Critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities to address environmental challenges.

Effective cross‑functional collaboration with environmental and construction teams.

Required

Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of related experience (environmental or related real‑estate discipline such as architecture/engineering/real‑estate leasing).

10+ years of experience in sales, business development, or a related field.

5–10+ years in environmental, real‑estate, and/or construction industries.

Strong knowledge of the insurance brokerage business.

Knowledge

Industry trends, regulations, and best practices.

Market research and data analysis.

Sales and marketing principles, including customer relationship management.

Compensation and Benefits We offer a competitive and comprehensive compensation package. The base salary range for this position is

$168,000.00/yr – $327,500.00/yr . On top of a competitive salary, we provide a wide range of benefits, including:
