University of Minnesota Physicians is hiring for a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant or Technician to join our Eye Care team in Minneapolis. The role supports an advanced practice, technology‑driven ophthalmology clinic that offers high‑quality diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of eye disorders.

Base pay range $25.25/hr - $39.17/hr

Our dedicated Eye Care team of Ophthalmologists, Optometrists, Orthoptists and Nurses, along with Certified Technicians and Assistants, provide next level diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the eye using state‑of‑the‑art technology. Our providers specialize in clinical and surgical subspecialties including Cornea, Refractive Surgery, Glaucoma, Neuro Ophthalmology, Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, and Vitreoretinal Disease. What You Will Do
Record patient history following JCAHPO / M Physicians guidelines.
Test and record basic visual assessment tasks with patients.
Assist with testing including visual fields, pupillary assessments, lensometry, keratometry, and supplementary testing.
Schedule initial and follow‑up appointments, including labs.
Assist with minor procedures and administer eye drops.
Assist with overall clinic flow and patient satisfaction.
What You Will Need
As a Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT): JCAHPO Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) and two years of clinical experience in ophthalmology as a COT or COA.
As a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA): JCAHPO Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) and two years of clinical experience in ophthalmology.
Location Phillips‑Wangensteen Building - 516 Delaware Street SE Minneapolis, MN 55455
Hours 40 hours/week
