G.A. Johnson Construction is a well‑established Construction Management and Design Build company seeking a qualified Project Manager/Estimator with a 10‑year track record in commercial construction. Projects include schools, detention facilities, state and local government buildings, office, industrial, manufacturing facilities, and interior remodeling.
$70-$90K per year
Location Harrisburg, SD
Employment Full‑time, Monday‑Friday. Benefits after 90 days include health/dental/vision insurance, paid holidays and vacation, 401(k).
Responsibilities
Managing Construction Management Projects (CMAR), proposals, contracts.
Estimating materials on projects for customer quotes.
Hard Bid and Conceptual Estimating.
Providing excellent customer service.
Setting appointments with potential customers, preparing quotes and selling projects to contacts.
Reviewing all shop drawings prior to approval, issuing RFIs as needed and expediting approvals.
Efficient project scheduling.
Contract Management.
Requirements
Knowledge of current building codes for the design of building elements.
Previous estimating experience in the steel or metal buildings industry and/or wood building components.
Ability to contribute effectively in a team environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi‑task.
Strong analytical and strategic planning skills.
Strong computer skills, including MS Word and Excel, Planswift/BlueBeam, Procore, Submittal Exchange.
Willingness and means to travel and a valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
4‑Year Construction Management or Civil Engineering degree.
10 years of commercial construction estimating/project management of projects $1-40 million.
OSHA 30 certification.
Relocation assistance available.
