Fay School seeks an innovative, collaborative, and experienced educator/administrator to serve as Dean of Educational Innovation, a position that will commence on July 1, 2026. The ideal candidate will possess a master’s degree in education, educational leadership, curriculum and instruction, or related field and a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in education, including teaching and leadership roles. The Dean of Educational Innovation serves as an academic leader dedicated to advancing teaching and learning across all grade levels (K–9). This role focuses on designing and implementing innovative educational programs that reflect the School’s mission and vision as well as preparing students for an evolving world. The Dean oversees the School’s signature programs and fosters collaboration between academics and equity and inclusion based priorities of the School. The Dean is responsible for the ethical incorporation of AI into educational programming. The Dean oversees new faculty onboarding and mentorship, faculty professional development, presentation and publishing, innovation grants, and fellowship programs, ensuring that pedagogical priorities remain dynamic, inclusive, and forward-thinking. Reporting to the Associate Head of School, the Dean of Educational Innovation oversees the academic department chairs and signature program leads. This is a full-time, 12-month position. The Dean of Educational Innovation must be passionate about working with K-9 students, have a deep appreciation for Fay’s multicultural faculty and student body, and demonstrate a commitment to building authentic relationships with, and programs for, faculty that nurture professional growth and encourage a mindset of innovation and inclusivity. Growth-minded coaching of teaching faculty, in collaboration with the Dean of Academic Excellence, is a special focus. Candidates should have demonstrated expertise in innovative pedagogy, curriculum design, and faculty development as well as a strong understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion, and emerging technologies in educational contexts. Proven success leading complex projects and cross-functional teams is key to success in this role as are exceptional communication, facilitation, and organizational skills and a forward-thinking, collaborative, and mission-driven leadership style. Candidates should have demonstrated experience in the ethical integration of AI within academic settings, with a focus on curriculum design and instructional innovation. Championing and advancing the School’s pedagogical priorities, promoting creative and research-based teaching practices K-9 Leading the visioning, design, and implementation of innovative programs and learning experiences that align with the School’s mission; encouraging experimentation and piloting programs that promote creative, inquiry-based, and student-centered learning Collaborating with division heads, department chairs, and the Dean of Academic Excellence to ensure that innovation aligns with curricular goals and school-wide learning outcomes K-9 Identifying and integrating emerging educational trends and technologies, including AI tools, to enhance teaching and learning; supporting faculty and departments in designing culturally responsive and ethically informed approaches to technology and AI Overseeing and continuously improving the School’s current and future signature programs, including Creativity & Design and Vox Inventum Managing and supporting department chairs in curriculum development, instructional excellence, and cross-disciplinary collaboration Serving as the liaison between academic programs and equity, inclusion, and belonging efforts to promote safe and inclusive learning environments K-9 Designing and leading the School’s Fellows Program, including selection, mentorship, and support for fellows; supporting the Dean of Academic Excellence in designing thoughtful faculty onboarding Managing innovation grants and providing guidance, resources, and accountability for faculty-led initiatives Planning and overseeing a comprehensive professional development program aligned with institutional goals, innovation priorities, and faculty growth needs Curating and facilitating professional development days and OAMM (Once a Month Monday) workshops, speakers, and collaborative learning communities for faculty and staff Representing the School at conferences and professional networks, positioning the school as a leader in educational innovation; supporting faculty in the same efforts regarding presentation, publishing, and grant applications Exploring and cultivating opportunities for advantageous external partnerships with Fay’s educational program, on and off campus, in partnership with the Business Development team Communicating progress, outcomes, and opportunities for innovation to internal and external stakeholders; serving as a liaison to the Admissions, Marketing & Communications, and Advancement offices to represent the School’s program Collaborating with the Dean of Academic Excellence and summer educational program leaders to ensure consistency and quality in programming and expected outcomes Teaching one class as a member of an academic department and coaching one season
