A health system in Suffolk County is seeking a licensed Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist to join their team.
About the opportunity:
- Schedule: Monday-Friday
- Hours: Full-time
- Setting: Inpatient and PHP
Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough diagnostic evaluations for children and adolescents presenting with a wide range of mental health issues.
- Develop, implement, and continuously monitor individualized, evidence-based treatment plans for disorders.
- Prescribe, manage, and monitor psychotropic medications.
- Provide urgent or same day behavioral health intervention, including managing patients in an acute crisis or emergency situations, and determining the appropriate level of care.
- Lead and collaborate with the multidisciplinary treatment team, which includes, psychologists, social workers, mental health counselors, nurses, occupational therapists, and school liaisons.
- Overseeing intensive day treatment that serve as an alternative to inpatient hospitalization or a step-down from it.
- Serve as teaching faculty, supervising and mentoring Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellows, General Psychiatry Residents, and Medical Students in clinical and didactic settings.
Qualifications:
- Licensed to practice medicine in the State of New York
- Board Certified/Eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
