We are seeking a dynamic and committed Consultant Dermatologist to join our team and help deliver high-quality patient care. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic professional to work within a supportive environment that values compassion, innovation, and collaboration.

You will play a key role in the delivery and development of the Dermatology service across Lincolnshire.

Main duties of the job

The appointee is expected, in conjunction with his/her Consultant colleagues, to provide a comprehensive dermatology service to the hospitals within Lincolnshire, working across the different sites for the organisation as required.

To provide departmental cover for dermatology by coordinating leave with colleagues.

To teach medical students, junior doctors, nursing staff and General Practitioners. To take an active part in the Postgraduate Medical Education programme.

To have continuing responsibility for the patients in his/her charge and for the proper functioning of the Department.

To attend the Dermatology Team meetings and actively contribute to the management and development of the clinical service, and other service activities with the object of ensuring a high standard of patient care.

Meet Royal College of Physicians standards and British Association of Dermatologist in continuing medical education.

Participate in local mandatory training, annual medical appraisal and revalidation.

To take part in the Team, Department, Trust, District, Regional and National Audit programmes.

To provide professional supervision and management of nursing and medical staff.

To be involved in research where appropriate.

Undertake such other duties as may be identified to meet the needs of the service.

Person Specification Qualifications & Clinical Skills

Current valid GMC registration with licence to practice

MRCP(UK) or equivalent medical experience

Entry on the General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register via one of the following: a)Certificate of Completion of Training (The proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of the interview) b)Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) c)European Community Rights

Higher degree e.g. Masters degree, MD or PhD

Special Knowledge / Abilities and/or Experience

Special area of interest and expertise within Dermatology including skin surgery

Special interest in surgery / paediatrics or biological therapies

Person Skills / Qualities

Ability to teach trainees, general practitioners and Medical Students

Interests and Motivation to the Job

Ability to assist in the development of the service

Academic Achievement / Research Publication

Participation in research

Publications in peer-reviewed journals

Other Skills (e.g. audit / teaching / management)

Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team

Experience of resource management and clinical audit
