Executive Summary The MCR standard is to provide clean, friendly, well‑organized and safe hotels for our guests. The Sales Director will lead the sales team to meet and exceed group booking goals, increase average daily rate and occupancy growth, grow market share, maximize revenue, and oversee the sales and events departments.

Happy Guests

Guest Relations: greet guests with a smile and use their names whenever possible.

Guest Satisfaction: collaborate to achieve great guest satisfaction scores.

Recovery: handle challenging guest situations with hospitality and a sense of urgency.

Hotel Knowledge: possess strong knowledge of hotel facilities and amenities.

Events: support all groups and events hosted in the hotel.

Technology: understand relevant technology for each role.

Phone Etiquette: answer all incoming calls with friendly service.

Teamwork & Communication: clear, honest, professional communication between team members.

Can Do Attitude: stretch beyond traditional role to meet business needs.

Collaboration: work together to create a welcoming environment for guests and a positive workplace.

Role Specific Duties and Expectations

Meet and exceed group booking goals.

Increase average daily rate and occupancy growth.

Grow market share on an annual basis.

Maximize revenue and control expenses.

Oversee sales and/or events department.

Maintain client relationships & networking.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

Proactively develop quantifiable action plans and conduct site inspections.

Develop and execute strategic plans for optimal occupancy and ADR growth.

Coordinate with revenue and pricing teams to build pipelines for key dates and soft periods.

Secure new business and demonstrate proactive engagement.

Maximize total revenues and control expenses to meet profitability objectives.

Oversee sales operations including proposals, contracts, and customer correspondence.

Manage event execution for group bookings and provide seamless on‑property service.

Maintain MCR standards of cleanliness, safety, and organization.

Achieve guest satisfaction scores.

Build professional relationships with clients, meeting planners, referral sites, and key sources.

Represent the hotel at local community and industry events.

Attend meetings and functions required by the hotel or management, even outside typical hours.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree preferred.

Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Progressive experience in hospitality, hotel, restaurant, or service industry, including rooms and food & beverage departments.

Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to influence, negotiate, provide friendly service, and possess professional selling skills.

Independent work and multitasking abilities.

Attention to detail, deadline management, and strong organization and presentation skills.

Physical Working Demands & Working Environment

Stand or remain stationary for 3–4 hours at a time.

Use computer and other office machinery for data entry, phone use, and document handling.

Inspect and observe details at close and long range.

Walk around the property to give tours.

Moderate noise level; some travel may be required.

Language and Reasoning Skills

Read, write, understand, and communicate effectively in English.

Interpret documents, safety rules, operating instructions, and manuals in English.

Write routine reports and correspondence in correct format and style.

Speak effectively in English before customers or employees.

Interpret business records and statistical reports in English.
