Senior Data Scientist, Agentic AI
Location NYC, Holmdel, NJ, Boston, or Bethlehem, PA (Hybrid)
Base Pay Range $165,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year

Job Summary We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist, Agentic AI to join our Data Science team on a contract-to-hire basis. The ideal candidate will be an experienced individual contributor with deep expertise in AI/ML and a track record of turning advanced research into practical, impactful enterprise solutions. This role will involve building, deploying, and scaling agentic AI systems, large language models, and intelligent automation solutions that reshape how we operate, serve customers, and drive growth.
Key Responsibilities
Design and Deploy Agentic AI Solutions: Create autonomous systems to automate complex business workflows, enhance decision‑making, and improve customer and employee experiences across the organization.
Operationalize Advanced AI Technologies: Implement cutting‑edge LLMs and generative AI to process and understand unstructured data such as contracts, claims, medical records, and customer interactions.
Build Intelligent Automation Systems: Develop autonomous agents and multi‑step reasoning systems that integrate with core platforms to deliver measurable business impact in underwriting, claims automation, and risk assessment.
Ensure Production Readiness: Partner with data engineers and AIOps teams to make AI models scalable, robust, and enterprise‑ready from prototype to full deployment.
Drive Innovation and Mentorship: Establish repeatable frameworks for developing, testing, and deploying agentic AI solutions while mentoring junior data scientists and standardizing AI/ML practices across the organization.
Requirements
Education: PhD with 2+ years of experience, or Master’s degree with 4+ years of experience in Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related field.
Experience: 3+ years of hands‑on AI modeling/development experience.
Skills: Strong programming skills in Python including PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangGraph; solid background in machine learning algorithms, optimization, and statistical modeling; strong theoretical foundations in probability & statistics.
Leadership: Proven experience providing technical leadership and mentoring to data scientists with strong management skills.
Communication: Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities with strong communication skills and capability to collaborate across Product, Engineering, and leadership teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with agentic AI, autonomous systems, and LLM-based solutions.
Background in reinforcement learning and multi‑step reasoning systems.
Experience in insurance or financial services industry.
Familiarity with enterprise AI deployment and scaling.
