Our analytics teams help power the Global Network by transforming complex payment activity into actionable insights. From monitoring billions of transactions to supporting fraud prevention, merchant strategy, and partner performance, they help ensure our network runs smarter, faster, and more secure.

As a Senior Business Analyst at Capital One, you will apply your strategic and analytical skills to major company challenges. You will team with world‑class professionals to develop and test strategies that ultimately impact the bottom line, in a collaborative environment that values your insight, encourages you to take on new responsibility, promotes continuous learning, and rewards innovation.

General Responsibilities

Analyze business challenges and opportunities, solving them through strategic or tactical recommendations.

Build models and analytics to support new product and pricing strategies for various lending products.

Support direct‑to‑consumer marketing efforts and strategic intent for products distributed through the retail channel; help build targeted insights to inform new customer experiences and breakthrough technology concepts.

Improve credit performance by linking future consumer credit trends to historical behavior, creating risk models, and testing hypotheses through rigorous monitoring and analysis.

Develop problem frameworks, hypotheses, analysis, solutions, scope operational feasibility, lead implementation efforts, and create a monitoring plan.

Collaborate closely with colleagues across IT, Sales, Operations, Finance, and others to improve quality, volume, service, and profitability.

Demonstrate a strong analytic orientation and quantitative skill set, essential for rigorous analytic marketing and credit risk management.

Show strong business judgment, leadership, and integrity; be a tenacious decision maker with an aggressive yet responsible approach to business.

Communicate effectively, both written and oral, driving agreement through intellect, interpersonal and negotiation skills.

Maintain a clear results orientation, focusing on short‑ and long‑term goals in an uncertain, fluid environment.

Thrive in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial, and dynamic environment; prior consulting experience is a plus.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Science, Engineering).

At least 1 year of experience in analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Business or a quantitative field (Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering).

1+ years of experience in statistical model building.

1+ years of experience in market research.

1+ years of experience in SQL querying.

2+ years of experience in business analysis.

1+ years of experience in consulting.

Salary and Incentives Chicago, IL: $99,100 – $113,100 for Sr. Business Analyst McLean, VA: $109,000 – $124,400 for Sr. Business Analyst New York, NY: $118,900 – $135,700 for Sr. Business Analyst Riverwoods, IL: $99,100 – $113,100 for Sr. Business Analyst

This role is also eligible to earn performance‑based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long‑term incentives (LTI).
