Assistant Superintendent – The Berg Group

Primary Responsibilities and Duties
Participate actively in all preconstruction meetings with the Foreman and Project Team.
Identify and resolve risks such as need for lifts or tying off.
Work with Project Manager(s) to proactively resolve bid production discrepancies.
Develop an understanding of superintendent responsibilities within the construction industry and specialty subcontractor context.
Walk projects with experienced field teams to understand full scope.
Provide union referrals with project coordinator.
Manage Foreman team(s) and hold them accountable to production goals.
Review daily/weekly production tracking to ensure bid levels are met.
Review work in progress and ensure it meets quality control and assurance standards.
Attend weekly meetings with Project Manager(s) to track job progress, percent complete, and scope completion.
Conduct safety and superintendent audits in coordination with safety teams.
Maintain technology knowledge on Mosaic/Plexxis foreman app, ARCORO, Paycom, and other tools for field and project management.
Oversee multi‑site commercial construction operations.
Coach Foreman on project budget, material purchasing, and manpower planning.
Share accurate job site progress with Foreman; motivate teams to exceed bid profit.
Act as a steward of the Berg employment culture, making the experience differentiated and meaningful.
Qualifications
OSHA 30 certification.
Boom Lift and Scissor Lift certification.
Minimum of 2 years in the construction industry (field experience a plus).
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and job‑relevant software.
Excellent problem‑solving and multi‑tasking skills.
Ability to work efficiently and provide leadership for project coordination.
Basic knowledge of CAL OSHA policies and procedures.
Bilingual in Spanish and English.
Other Requirements
Sedentary work with occasional lifting up to 15 pounds.
Occasional walking and standing.
Travel up to 50% within designated market; regular site visits and client meetings required.
