Department Overview
The College of Computing, Data Science, and Society (CDSS) is an innovative new college that brings together faculty, researchers, staff and students from computing, statistics, the humanities and social and natural sciences. CDSS focuses on how the digital revolution affects equity and opportunity, and seeks to educate the next generation of data scientists.
Reporting to
the Senior Director of Development, the Coordinator administers high‑level tasks and projects related to annual giving, stewardship, alumni relations, development operations, and events.
Responsibilities
Fundraising: implements fundraising operations, stewardship, and alumni giving programs, plans and executes well‑defined campaigns, and develops reports on program activities.
Alumni Engagement: supports alumni programs such as alumni of the year, reunions, newsletters and class‑gift campaigns.
Stewardship: manages gift acknowledgements and makes customizations to donor templates, performs stewardship calls to annual fund donors.
Communications: prepares materials for fundraising activities, events, newsletters and solicitations.
Development Operations: handles pledge fulfillment, gift allocations and adjustments, donor follow‑up, data requests, and research on prospects.
Events: plans, organizes and implements special events for donors and alumni.
Participates in workshops, training and professional development opportunities.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
Professional knowledge of fundraising, donor and alumni relations, and fundraising communications.
Working knowledge of the organization’s mission and objectives.
Knowledge of applicable laws, rules and regulations.
Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong organizational, analytical, project management and critical‑thinking skills.
Skills in maintaining confidentiality.
Proficiency with business software and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
Salary & Benefits Salary range: $35.78 to $43.30 hourly ($74,700 to $90,400 annual). Eligible for full benefits. FLSA Non‑exempt, paid biweekly.
Conviction History Background This designated position requires fingerprinting and a background check. Berkeley may hire candidates with conviction histories after review.
Misconduct Disclosure Conditional offers require disclosure of any misconduct within the last seven years and related administrative or judicial decisions.
