Sr. Storage Administrator

Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage the network storage system, including configuration and operation.
Monitor the storage environment to maintain data integrity and ensure consistent data availability.
Perform regular system updates and patches in compliance with NIH security guidelines and vendor recommendations.
Manage the lifecycle of storage hardware, including procurement, installation, maintenance, and decommissioning, following ITMB guidelines.
Evaluate storage capacity and utilization trends to ensure optimal performance.
Provide data-driven recommendations for storage upgrades and capacity expansion.
Troubleshoot performance issues and address operational problems promptly.
Configure storage systems to integrate seamlessly with network hardware and protocols, including TCP/IP.
Ensure adherence to network infrastructure standards and protocols.
Provide expert technical consultation to IT staff on storage system optimization, troubleshooting, and best practices.
Conduct training sessions to enhance team knowledge and operational efficiency.
Qualifications Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in network storage administration.
Hands‑on experience with enterprise‑level storage systems and data management tools.
Technical Expertise
Proficiency in network storage hardware and software, including SAN, NAS, and RAID configurations.
Strong understanding of networking protocols, including TCP/IP.
Familiarity with storage monitoring and diagnostic tools.
Certifications (Preferred)
Certified Storage Networking Expert (CSNE)
NetApp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA)
EMC Proven Professional Certification
Skills
Advanced troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Effective communication and technical training expertise.
