Location: Portland, OR

Base pay range: $160,000.00/yr - $190,000.00/yr

A national leader in employment and labor law is hiring a Junior Employment Litigation Associate for its Portland office to support a fast‑growing labor and employment defense practice. This attorney will work closely with multiple partners across a diverse caseload, gaining hands‑on litigation experience from early strategy through resolution. You’ll draft pleadings and motions, support depositions, and help manage discovery while building courtroom and client‑facing confidence. The firm seeks a proactive, motivated litigator with strong writing ability, a collaborative mindset, and a genuine passion for employment law. Responsibilities

Draft and respond to discovery requests, pleadings, and motions

Assist with taking and defending depositions, or prepare senior attorneys for depositions

Conduct legal research and prepare briefs, memoranda, and persuasive advocacy materials

Support case strategy development and participate in hearings, mediation, and negotiations

Collaborate with multiple partners on a variety of employment litigation matters

Manage deadlines and competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment

Requirements

1‑3 years of employment litigation experience preferred

Open to candidates with strong litigation skills from other practice areas

Experience defending depositions is a plus

Excellent academic credentials and strong writing and analytical skills

Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail

Admitted to the Oregon State Bar

Proactive self‑starter with strong initiative and the ability to work independently and collaboratively

Stable work history and commitment to growth in employment law
