Strategic Territory Sales Manager – Midwest We are seeking trailblazers with experience in the HVAC and Water Heating/ Hydronic distribution industry, armed with valuable market knowledge and a relentless drive to exceed customer expectations. This position will serve our Commercial Water Heating and Air Divisions. It is based in the Midwest Region, with our ideal candidate located in Wisconsin, Illinois or Ohio and covering the Midwest region (WV, WI, IN, MI, IL & OH) with roughly 60% travel.

Responsibilities

Strategic Partner – Provide unprecedented strategic sales/service to premier national accounts, working closely with Rheem internal support to do so. Establish and maintain a strategic partnership selling relationship with the Premier Account customer. Develop sales plans for the HVAC and Water Heating/ Hydronic teams with the national Account Customer.

Communication – Strategically communicate Rheem’s product, support, quality, sales tactics, and pricing. Act as the conduit between Rheem and the premier account customer. Adapt to the client’s needs in the respective market. Formally report progress against the business plan on a regular basis.

Proactive Conflict Resolution – Seek ways to resolve conflicts with Premier national Account Customer and internal partners before they arise. Smooth the way for seamless service to the customer.

Bold Execution – Exceed sales growth targets and premier account expectations. Continuously look for unique opportunities in HVAC and Water Heating/ Hydronic industry. Plan and implement all commercial activities for the national Account Customer in your region.

Continual Professional Development – Take proactive ownership of personal training and career development to grow and increase success. Rely on internal support for product information while becoming proficient in a vast commercial product line.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from a four‑year college or university

5+ years of experience in customer call/direct sales in commercial HVAC, water heating, or hydronic industry.

Technical knowledge of commercial HVAC, water heating, or hydronic industry.

Must be proficient in computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Effective communication skills.

Strong presentation skills.

Strong mathematical skills—ability to calculate discounts, interests, commissions, & percentages.

Strong analytical and reasoning skills—ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Requires self‑motivation and little supervision.

Must have ability to create demand for and sell Rheem HVAC, Water & Hydronic products, and develop, maintain, and solidify good‑will and customer relations.

Must be capable of traveling extensively.

Must be willing to reside in or relocate to the account zone.

Demonstrated ability to work well with others in a team environment.

Pay The pay scale for this role is $79,900 – $127,800. Please note all pay ranges are broadly stated and any final offer is dependent on factors such as location, direct experience, market guidance, and internal equity, among other qualifying criteria.
