When more humans are empowered with the tools and knowledge to think, create, and solve problems beyond the barrier of a single reality, the possibilities are endless. We work with technology partners ahead of their most pivotal product launches. Our team has clocked thousands of hours in-engine with dev teams building the next generation of VR/AR experiences and traveled the globe designing educational workshops with top experts in the industry. If there is something you want to make, we’ll figure out how to do it.
Overview
Scout House is looking for a Creative Director to define, elevate, and deliver our creative vision — and help shape the future of the Creative Technology department. This is a foundational hire: our first in‑house Creative Director, responsible for ensuring creative excellence, building brand consistency, and upleveling our video and campaign work across all client programs.
This is a hybrid role — equal parts leader and maker. The Creative Director will concept, design, and produce work hands‑on, while guiding a roster of freelance creatives to consistently deliver at the highest level. They will co‑lead the Creative Technology function, ensuring creative and technical teams work seamlessly together to produce groundbreaking experiences.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑moving, evolving environment, where processes may need to be built or reimagined. They will help define creative pipelines, set new standards for excellence, and mentor others — while still jumping into the work themselves when needed.
Key Responsibilities
Establish and own the creative vision, ensuring brand consistency across all deliverables and client programs
Co‑lead the Creative Technology department, aligning on innovation, tools, and process
Provide creative direction, feedback, and mentorship to freelance designers, editors, and creative technologists
Define creative guidelines, style systems, and processes that enable scalable, repeatable excellence
Champion a culture of collaboration, experimentation, and dedication to craft
Hands‑On Creative Execution
Concept, design, and produce high‑impact creative work — from campaigns to key video assets
Lead video storytelling from concept through post‑production, ensuring cinematic quality, strong pacing, and polished delivery
Contribute directly to visual development, campaign design, and multimedia production
Review and approve work, maintaining creative integrity and aligning it to client goals
Collaboration & Workflow Management
Partner with Program Directors and Producers to prioritize creative work based on company goals and resource availability
Lead and participate in client presentations, clearly articulating ideas and incorporating feedback
Work closely with tech and production teams to ensure seamless handoffs, efficient pipelines, and version control
Identify gaps in process and build new workflows to streamline creative execution
Skills & Experience Must Have:
12–15+ years of creative experience, including management‑level experience in agencies, studios, or tech companies
Proven ability to balance leadership with hands‑on execution — a true hybrid leader/maker
Strong video and campaign background: cinematic storytelling, pre‑production through post‑production, motion design oversight
Track record of building or elevating brand visual systems and ensuring cross‑project consistency
Excellent art direction, design, and visual storytelling skills
Confident communicator and presenter, able to inspire teams and clients
Experience collaborating closely with technology teams to bring ambitious creative ideas to life
Thrives in startup or entrepreneurial environments, creating clarity and process where none exist
Nice to Have:
Experience in gaming, mixed reality, AR/VR, or emerging tech storytelling
Familiarity with 3D pipelines, real‑time rendering, or game engine workflows (Unreal/Unity)
Basic hands‑on skills in motion graphics, editing, or 3D to better communicate with specialists
Experience managing and motivating distributed or freelance creative teams
Success in This Role Looks Like
Scout House creative work achieves a clear, recognizable visual identity across all touchpoints
Video output shows measurable improvement in storytelling, polish, and production value
Creative pipelines and workflows are documented, repeatable, and efficient — without stifling innovation
Creative technology and production teams feel aligned and supported under shared leadership
Clients and internal teams alike see Scout House as delivering world‑class, innovative creative
