Your Opportunity The Senior Electrical Engineer with a strong healthcare focus will apply building electrical engineering principles, superior client service skills, and project management best practices to deliver projects that meet requirements, exceed client expectations, and meet financial and other objectives. Working within our thriving buildings practice, you will contribute to project delivery standards and work processes, provide quality control, workload forecasting, financial performance accountability, and collaborate with other disciplines.

Your Key Responsibilities

Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of healthcare projects ensuring on time, scope, and budget.

Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.

Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocations.

Collaborate with project leaders, architects, design partners, contractors, and other stakeholders to define objectives and deliverables.

Lead cross‑functional teams, facilitating communication and collaboration.

Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation.

Conduct status meetings and prepare reports for stakeholders.

Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, quality standards, and best practices.

Mentor junior engineers and foster continuous improvement.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery processes.

Engage external partners including vendors and regulatory agencies.

Establish strong relationships with providers, vendors, and stakeholders.

Lead electrical design for health and complex non‑health facilities (power distribution, lighting, backup power, utility coordination, short‑circuit studies).

Conduct site visits and inspections.

Apply critical thinking and problem solving to develop design solutions.

Prepare detailed design documents, specifications, and reports.

Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

Ensure compliance with healthcare design standards and regulations.

Participate in project meetings and communicate effectively with clients.

Manage projects and tasks of appropriate scope, complexity, and revenue budget.

Provide oversight for Electrical Engineering staff.

Contribute to overall technical growth of the electrical team.

Meet technical, contractual, schedule, budgetary, and client service objectives.

Apply strong electrical engineering skills to design and oversight of building projects.

Manage production resources and workflow for design documentation, drawings, and calculations.

Act as QC reviewer on projects.

Delegate work to production support staff.

Nurture existing client relationships and pursue new business opportunities.

Develop project proposals and participate in pursuits.

Develop and deliver client presentations.

Engage in continuous learning of related disciplines.

Maintain awareness of operational, technical, or regulatory changes and disseminate knowledge.

Maintain and update Electrical Engineering specifications, technical documentation, and standards.

Develop industry relationships and visibility with clients, sub‑consultants, and partner firms.

Develop presentation materials and present at industry events.

Represent the firm through articles, public speaking, and community events.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

7+ years of project management and electrical engineering within the health sector.

Exceptional communication, leadership, and team‑building skills.

Strong knowledge of healthcare codes, regulations, and compliance standards.

Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, resources, and timelines.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment with a client‑centered focus.

Proactive mindset and commitment to an inclusive, collaborative culture.

Passion for improving healthcare delivery and creating healing environments.

Experience delivering electrical engineering designs to architects and owners in healthcare and non‑healthcare markets.

Understanding of project management principles.

Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards (California building codes, OSHPD, IMC, IPC, NFPA, IBC, ASHRAE, LEED).

Technical knowledge of electrical building systems.

Fundamental understanding of OSHPD requirements and California Building Codes, NFPA 72, 99, 101, 110, and FGI Guidelines.

Familiarity with sustainable design principles.

Strong client communication and interpersonal skills.

Knowledge of BIM software Revit; Microsoft Office; Bluebeam.

Professional Engineering license (preferred).

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.

Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Professional Engineering license strongly preferred.

OSHPD/HCAI experience is a plus.

Knowledge of Lean Construction and IPD is a plus.

Pay Range

Locations in CO, HI, IL, MD & various CA, NJ areas – Min Salary $117,800.00 – Max Salary $176,800.00.

Locations in WA, DC & various CA, MA areas – Min Salary $126,400.00 – Max Salary $189,600.00.
