Your expertise will be crucial in navigating privacy regulations and fostering a culture of data protection.

As a Vice President- Firmwide Americas Privacy Advisory in the Firmwide Privacy Office, you will support the ongoing development of our privacy program, with a particular focus on US financial privacy requirements. You will work closely with key stakeholders to implement privacy strategies that align with our firm's goals. Your role will be instrumental in ensuring that our privacy practices meet global standards and support our data-driven initiatives.

Job responsibilities:

Advise on application of privacy requirements in connection with complex new initiatives and partner with stakeholders to ensure requirements are properly implemented

Advise on data exposure and privacy incidents

Engage with stakeholders to conduct privacy by design reviews

Support the conduct of formal and informal privacy risk assessments

Monitor and respond to changes in the privacy regulatory environment

Support the firm’s readiness programs to address changes in the privacy regulatory environment

Design, develop, enhance, implement and administer critical programs across privacy domains

Draft and manage governance documentation such as policies, standards and procedures

Support the development of privacy controls to mitigate privacy risks

Develop and deliver privacy training, content and programs

Partner with key stakeholders across the firm to deliver on complex initiatives

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

Significant experience counseling and advising on privacy requirements in multiple jurisdictions across multiple functions and lines of business.

Expert knowledge of privacy laws and regulations, with a particular focus on those relating to financial institutions (e.g., GLBA, FCRA and CalFIPA, as well as CalOPPA, CCPA, GDPR, and others around the world)

Experience with the conduct of data protection impact assessments

Experience in evaluating and responding to data exposure incidents

Ability to work independently and in a self-directed manner

Ability to successfully operate across businesses and functions with strong influencing and relationship management skills

Proven ability to advise on privacy requirements for new initiatives.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

J.D. and experience as a practicing privacy lawyer at a financial institution, technology company or otherwise

Experience in privacy at a financial institution or other regulated institution

Experience with the three lines of defense model of risk management

Privacy Certifications such as CIPP-US and/or CIPP-E

Understanding of the Advertising Technology (AdTech) and online tracking landscape and related regulatory environment
