About The Team The Propulsion Team designs and integrates advanced propulsion systems for unmanned air vehicles. Air Dominance and Strike Mechanical Integration Engineers own the full development lifecycle—from concept generation to integration and flight testing—ensuring high‑performance, resilient, and scalable mechanical systems that meet the demands of complex, contested environments.

What You’ll Do

Serve as a critical member of the team for the selection and integration of aircraft engines, engine components, and fuel systems on unmanned air vehicles.

Plan, instrument, and execute tests of aircraft propulsion systems.

Coordinate with engine vendors, develop strategic partnerships, and manage development projects.

Support critical hardware demonstrations with customers as needed.

Travel to test sites as required.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of propulsion engineering experience on air vehicles (manned or unmanned).

Professional experience with gas turbine engines.

Knowledge of Brayton cycle fundamentals.

Experience interpreting and using engine performance data.

Exposure to testing of engines or powertrain components.

>Understanding of manufacturing methods (machining, sheet metal, composites, 3D printing, injection molding, etc.). BS or higher degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering.

Eligible to obtain/maintain a Top Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in the design or integration of aircraft fuel systems.

Experience with engine inlet distortion and engine operability per ARP1420C.

Knowledge of engine starting procedures and methods, especially for miniature gas turbines.

Experience with NX/Teamcenter.

Hands‑on experience with jet engine testing, including test practices, instrumentation, and data processing.

Experience procuring parts and working in a machine shop; working knowledge of machine safety and shop safety protocols.

Compensation $146,000—$194,000 USD (base salary only). Actual offer may vary based on experience, education, critical skills, and business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in most full‑time offers.
