Senior Principal Program Chief Engineer – Engines & MEMS (ONSITE) Collins Aerospace seeks an experienced Program Chief Engineer to lead the Engines & MEMS team at our Burnsville, MN site. This onsite role will drive engineering execution across the full product life cycle, from concept through sustainment, ensuring program goals for cost, schedule, performance, and quality are achieved.

What you will do

Lead the engineering Integrated Program Team (IPT) through proposal, definition, design, verification, manufacturing, and sustainment phases.

Serve as the Engineering representative within the program’s Value Stream, ensuring technical execution meets or exceeds cost, schedule, and performance targets.

Own engineering responsibilities for Earned Value Management (EVMS), risk management, change control, and work scope oversight.

Develop and manage annual budgets in collaboration with functional and program leadership.

Create and maintain detailed schedules and plans that align with program and customer milestones.

Track and analyze key performance metrics, implementing corrective actions for negative trends.

Represent Collins Aerospace in all engineering‑related customer interactions, fostering strong relationships.

Identify and pursue recurring and non‑recurring cost reduction opportunities.

Lead resolution efforts for in‑service product issues, ensuring thorough root‑cause investigations and timely corrective actions.

Provide regular project updates to internal leadership across multiple organizational levels.

Direct and mentor assigned technical team members, support career development, and ensure proper training and tools are available.

Qualifications you must have

Degree in STEM or equivalent with 10+ years of engineering experience in aerospace or related industry, including at least 5 years in program or team leadership roles.

U.S. citizenship required.

Experience managing complex engineering programs through the entire life cycle.

Specific experience with pressure, temperature, and/or speed sensors used in turbofan engines or space rocketry.

Strong knowledge of EVMS, risk management, change control, and systems engineering best practices.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $124,000 – $250,000 USD.

The salary range is a good‑faith estimate and may vary with experience. Candidates will be eligible for annual short‑term and/or long‑term incentive compensation programs, subject to company and individual performance.
