Onward Search is partnering with a leading tech client to hire a
Software Engineer III
to help build the next generation of developer infrastructure and tooling. If you’re passionate about making developer workflows faster, smarter, and more scalable, this is the role for you!
Location:
100% Remote (EST & CST Preferred)
Contract Duration:
6 months
What You’ll Do:
Own and maintain Bazel build systems and related tooling
Scale monorepos to millions of lines of code
Collaborate with infrastructure teams to define best-in-class developer workflows
Develop and maintain tools for large-scale codebases
Solve complex problems and improve developer productivity
What You’ll Need:
Experience with Bazel build system and ecosystem (e.g., rules_jvm_external, IntelliJ Bazel plugin)
Fluency in
Java, Python, Starlark, and TypeScript
Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills
Passion for building highly productive developer environments
