Senior Network Engineer Koch Technology is looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join our Global Network Engineering team, delivering networking solutions that achieve operational excellence in Transport Hub, Load Balancer, and Routing & Switching areas. The Senior Network Engineer will report to the Network Engineering Supervisor and be responsible for Core routing and data center network infrastructure, driving growth and investing in cutting‑edge technologies to support Cisco Engineering and business functions.

Location Open to candidates based in Wichita, KS, Atlanta, GA, or Plano, TX. On‑site role with flexibility as needed.

This role is not eligible for VISA sponsorship.

What You Will Do

Work in a large‑scale networking environment under minimal supervision, performing tasks per predefined documented procedures.

Establish the networking environment by crafting network configuration, advising and executing DC network infrastructure, defining, detailing, and enforcing standards.

Ensure assigned network engineering projects are delivered on time, on budget and against agreed scope.

Design plans and lead initiatives for the optimization and restructuring of the data center and network connections.

Ensure end‑to‑end quality delivery of assigned network projects, ensuring adherence to Network engineering standards and subsequent handover to the Operations team.

Produce methods of procedures that demonstrate understanding of changes proposed and how the change will be executed with minimal service impact.

Identify End‑of‑Life/ End‑of‑Support network devices in the Data Center and propose appropriate replacement devices by preparing Bill of Materials.

Work with Cisco TAC or other 3rd‑party vendors for escalation as needed.

Interface with customers to assist in resolving customer issues, communicate resolution status, and deliver high quality solutions.

Identify process gaps or areas for improvement in delivery efficiencies and recommend/implement solutions.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and business unit leadership in developing project objectives and timelines.

Engage in opportunities to expand on existing skillset in an attempt to increase knowledge and reduce learning curves.

Provision and activate data center network circuit and work with the provider to resolve issues.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

8+ years of relevant industry experience in Data Center Core Enterprise routing.

Proficient in core networking protocols (TCP/IP, Ethernet, BGP, OSPF, MPLS) with experience managing multi‑vendor WAN environments.

Advanced, hands‑on experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting enterprise routing protocols, with a strong emphasis on BGP and OSPF.

Extensive expertise in BGP, encompassing route policy design, traffic engineering, route redistribution, filtering, and troubleshooting within multi‑homed multi‑vendor environments.

Proven ability to resolve complex routing issues involving BGP and OSPF in enterprise data center and WAN environments.

Demonstrated ability to apply advanced concepts of underlay (physical network) and overlay (virtual network) routing in enterprise environments.

Demonstrated expertise with advanced routing concepts such as Virtual Routing and Forwarding (VRF), VRF‑based routing and inter‑VRF communication.

Expertise in solution design, systems thinking, integration, and cross‑disciplinary workflows.

Demonstrated experience managing and delivering complex enterprise network infrastructure projects end‑to‑end.

Experience with Agile methodologies.

Experience with network automation and orchestration tools (Python, Ansible, Git) including workflow automation and version control.

Knowledge of F5 Load‑Balancer.

Familiarity with Cisco Nexus platforms and the broader Cisco networking product portfolio.

What Will Put You Ahead

CCNP or CCIE certifications.

Cloud experience (VPC, VPN, AWS).

Experience working with complex enterprise WAN environments, including BGP, OSPF, MPLS, IPSec topologies and protocols.
