Chief Engineer - Embassy Suites Orlando Airport
Join Hilton as a hands‑on leader in a family‑like environment at Embassy Suites Orlando Airport. As Chief Engineer you will lead a dedicated maintenance team, manage preventive maintenance, oversee capital projects, and keep building systems operating efficiently while fostering teamwork and support.
Responsibilities
Lead the engineering team in day‑to‑day operations, including service standards, equipment schedules, and work schedules.
Coordinate with Housekeeping to prioritize maintenance activities for guest rooms and public areas.
Develop systems and procedures to ensure the health and safety of guests and team members, and the proper condition of plants, machinery, and property.
Communicate with government agencies to ensure compliance with statutory regulations.
Prepare capital and repairs budgets for engineering.
Perform daily checks around the hotel and conduct lift emergency release procedures as required.
Diagnose, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment.
Maintain good relationships with internal and external customers.
Develop, implement, and direct emergency programs and energy conservation initiatives.
Coordinate renovation bidding, define cost and scope, and oversee contractors to ensure quality and cost‑effectiveness.
Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
Identify and introduce environmentally‑friendly systems and equipment.
Monitor key performance indicators for the engineering department and take corrective action to improve equipment inventory, quality audit, and productivity.
Manage all team‑member related activities, including recruitment, performance management, training, career planning, disciplinary matters, and motivation.
Qualifications
Advanced knowledge of building management/engineering.
A degree in engineering or similar field.
Experience with budgeting and basic accounting.
Positive attitude and strong communication skills.
Committed to delivering high‑level customer service.
Strong leadership skills and previous experience managing a team.
Excellent grooming standards.
Flexibility to respond to a range of work situations.
Ability to work under pressure and independently.
Previous experience in facilities management.
Proficient at an advanced level with computers and relevant programs.
