CAD Design & Applications Solution Support Engineer – Mechanical

Marioff has been a leader in high‑pressure water mist fire protection for four decades. We develop innovative solutions and provide top‑quality water mist fire protection via the HI‑FOG system. We are seeking a Project Solutions Support/Applications Engineer to support channel partners, end users, AHJs, and Fire Protection Engineers with application, design, and technical support on our Marioff HI‑FOG water mist systems.
Key Responsibilities
Provide design solutions for sales‑phase inquiries using estimation software and other means through review of customer drawings, specifications, and plans.
Offer technical support and proposals to channel partners in collaboration with the North America Sales Team.
Provide approved and engineered solutions to key customers, partners, engineers, and regional sales managers quickly.
Create HI‑FOG system designs using Autodesk AutoCAD, including piping isometrics, P&IDs, and general equipment diagrams.
Prepare hydraulic calculations to correctly dimension HI‑FOG systems.
Review and comment on customer drawings and calculations for completeness, format, and compliance.
Monitor project status to ensure design progress and documentation are submitted per schedule.
Present and discuss current project status at weekly meetings.
Manage multiple projects or tasks concurrently.
Qualifications
Experience with AutoCAD (LT, MEP) and ability to produce technical designs.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Ability to acquire answers via various channels to develop necessary data.
Teamworking skills and self‑starter.
Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint).
Degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Fire Protection, Fire Science a plus, or equivalent experience.
Physically able to travel to support partners, perform pre‑design site visits, and verify commissioning.
Must be a U.S. citizen, green‑card holder, or permanent resident because of contractual agreements.
Preferred
Autodesk Revit and BIM capabilities.
Experience in fire protection, construction engineering, mechanical, or fluid power engineering.
Experience with water mist system design.
Experience with pressure‑drop and flow calculation programs.
Strong technical and communication skills.
NICET certification beneficial.
Knowledge of sprinkler design practices and NFPA standards (13, 20, 25, 750, etc.) desirable.
Other Requirements
Position based in Hopkinton, MA.
Potential travel 10–20%.
