Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, including hiring, performance management, and training.
Establish and maintain accounting standards and policies in alignment with GAAP.
Oversee account reconciliations, special accounting projects, and communication with internal stakeholders and external auditors.
Support payroll, commissions, and financial performance benchmarking.
Manage month-end and year-end close processes and coordinate with external accounting firms as needed.
Oversee core accounting functions such as balance sheet reconciliations, GL coding approvals, fixed asset records, and invoice processing.
Manage financial system integrations and support implementation of accounting software upgrades and process improvements.
Lead cross‑functional initiatives related to accounting and finance.
Prepare and present financial reports and budgets for executive review.
Develop and monitor accounting KPIs.
Identify financial and compliance risks and assist leadership in risk mitigation.
Champion organizational improvement initiatives and uphold company values.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
Experience operating strategically and tactically in a middle‑market environment.
At least 5 years leading a small accounting department (Accounting, AP, AR).
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
Advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills.
Strong motivation, growth mindset, and ability to develop others.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Suite.
