Responsibilities

Serve as the outsourced Controller/CFO for multiple non‑profit clients.

Transform nonprofit client financial departments to help them meet their mission.

Provide financial reporting for management and board decision‑making and presentations.

Recommend and implement improvements to accounting, operations, internal controls, and compliance policies and procedures, supporting client strategy and best practices.

Handle transactional activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable (revenue recognition and billing), payroll, general accounting, reconciliations, month‑end close, and maintaining workpapers.

Analyze and visualize data, budgeting, and forecasting.

Manage grant management, allocations, and funder reporting.

Prepare for and manage annual audits.

Provide client and staff training opportunities.

Qualifications

Passionate about working in or supporting non‑profit organizations.

Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Accounting or Finance.

5‑7+ years of accounting experience.

Experience working in a remote environment preferred.

Ability to manage and lead multiple clients, work independently, and respond timely.

Strong Microsoft Excel skills.

Experience with multiple general ledger packages, especially QuickBooks, and electronic bill‑pay systems.

Non‑profit accounting, public accounting, or consulting experience is a plus but not required.

CPA certification is a plus.

Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Standard 35‑hour full‑time work week, with eligibility for paid overtime for non‑exempt employees.

For full‑time positions: 4 weeks paid time off (≈100 hours starting vacation), 9 paid holidays, full benefits package (medical, dental, vision, life insurance, supplemental benefits), very generous employer contributions to medical insurance premiums.

For part‑time positions: pro‑rated vacation and sick time, eligibility for supplemental benefits.

Starting annual base salary: $90,000 to $125,000 based on a 35‑hour work week for this non‑exempt position. Total compensation may increase with overtime pay and eligibility for various bonuses. A professional development reimbursement and technology stipend are also provided annually.
