The

Leveraged Lending

group within

Corporate Banking

is responsible for underwriting and managing the firm's private equity-backed syndicated loan and direct lending portfolio. The group partners closely with both product and coverage teams to allocate capital across revolvers and term loan holds in sponsor-led transactions. This team also commits capital in direct lending opportunities including Unitranche Term Loans, Delayed Draw Term Loans, and 2nd Lien Term Loans.

As an

Analyst , you will play a key role throughout the deal lifecycle—from transaction screening and underwriting through portfolio monitoring and client engagement. This is a unique opportunity to develop in-depth credit, modeling, and transaction execution skills within a dynamic and high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities New Underwritings (60%)

Analyze financial and operating data to identify trends in performance across various industries.

Participate in all stages of underwriting: initial screening, due diligence, credit approval, and documentation negotiation.

Digest comprehensive data rooms and extract key financial and business information.

Build and sensitize LBO models based on management and sponsor projections for use in credit memos.

Develop risk/return assessments, key credit highlights, and committee materials.

Lead diligence calls with sponsors and company management teams.

Partner with internal teams (Leveraged Finance, Sponsor Coverage, Industry Coverage) on transaction execution and client deliverables.

Address and respond to questions from Investment Committee and Credit Risk teams.

Portfolio Management (40%)

Monitor the performance of existing borrowers through financial review, quarterly calls, and ongoing sponsor/management engagement.

Prepare credit reviews and updates for assigned portfolio companies.

Reassess internal risk ratings based on financial and operational developments.

Track capital allocation and evaluate credit exposure across the portfolio.

Identify opportunities for cross-sell (FX, interest rate hedging, cash management) with existing borrowers.

Analyze industry trends and comparable transactions to provide context for credit decisions.

Education Bachelor's degree in

Finance ,

Economics ,

Accounting , or related field with strong academic performance.

Experience

1–2 years of relevant experience in Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, Capital Markets, or Corporate Credit.

Completion of a formal credit or financial analyst training program preferred.

Skills & Competencies

Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, including experience building complex LBO models.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple deliverables in a deadline-driven environment.

Strong interpersonal skills; comfortable working with stakeholders across all levels.

Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.

Proactive, resourceful, and self-motivated with a commercial mindset.
