Associate Veterinarian – DeSoto County Animal Clinic

Position Purpose: Provide medical and surgical care to companion animals, educate clients on responsible pet care, and uphold clinic standards consistent with our mission and values.
Qualifications
DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
Active or obtainable Mississippi veterinary license.
DEA/BNDD eligibility.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Professional, courteous, and respectful attitude toward clients and team.
Ability to lift 25 lbs independently and over 25 lbs with assistance.
Essential Responsibilities
Examine and treat companion animals to diagnose disease or injury.
Operate diagnostic equipment, collect and interpret laboratory samples and imaging.
Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
Perform surgeries and prescribe medication when appropriate.
Provide counsel around pet end‑of‑life care.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics, clinic policies, and governing regulations.
