Monday-Friday as needed

Required Qualifications

Associate of Applied Science in Surgical Technology through an accredited Surgical tech program

BLS for Healthcare Provider upon hire

Certification through The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) within three (3) months of hire

Preferred Qualifications

One (1) year of Surgical Technologist acute care experience

Medical terminology experience preferred

Additional Information/Department information The Surgical Technologist is an allied health professional competent of surgical procedures and an integral part of the surgical care team. The Surgical Technologist works under the supervision and delegation of a surgeon to facilitate safe and effective surgical procedures. The Surgical Technologist is an expert in theory and application of aseptic and sterile technique, knowledgeable of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and surgeon preferences to properly prepare the sterile field, supplies, instrumentation and assisting through a combination of knowledge, participation, anticipation, and critical thinking. The Surgical Technologist works alongside and assists the circulating nurse as well as other members of the surgical team.
