Audiologist - Otorhinolaryngology - Texas Medical Center UtHealth Houston Otorhinolaryngology located in the Texas Medical Center is hiring an Audiologist to join their team of professionals. The role involves providing basic audiologic services for prevention, identification, diagnosis, consultation, and rehabilitation to patients with communication deficits due to hearing impairment and related disorders.

Schedule and Location Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm

Position Summary Provides basic audiologic services for prevention, identification, diagnosis, consultation, and rehabilitation to patients with communication deficits resulting from hearing impairment and other associated disorders.

Key Accountabilities

Coordinates various phases of clinical audiologic and related research activities.

Performs audiologic evaluation of pediatric and adult patients suspected of hearing deficits, identifying type and degree of hearing loss.

Follows up on patients and counsels families to verify use of appropriate self‑care techniques or recommended referral service.

Assists in the development and administration of quality assurance programs.

Maintains legal and accreditation compliance by adhering to federal, state, and local regulations and professional standards.

Maintains patient records.

Provides auditory evaluations and education.

Assists in instruction and demonstration of testing procedures and services to clinic personnel, medical students, and residents.

Might be required to dispense hearing aids to patients.

Maintains accurate, complete, and timely documentation.

Maintains supplies and equipment.

Other duties as assigned.

Certification & Skills

Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC‑A) by American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association (ASHA) required or

Audiologist License by Texas Department of Licensing and Registration (TDLR) required or must be obtained within two months of initial employment.

Minimum Education Master’s degree in audiology and completion of a Clinical Fellowship/Externship Year (CFY); clinical audiology experience with adults and pediatric patients. Audiology Doctorate (Au.D.) is preferred.

Minimum Experience No experience required.

Physical Requirements Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.

Security Sensitive This position is a security‑sensitive position pursuant to Texas Education Code 51.215 and Texas Government Code 411.094, and employment requires meeting Texas residency requirement (must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas).
