Position Summary The role is a mix of project work and support tasks focusing on the Thrive Cloud platform, working and reporting to the Director, Cloud Networking. It involves designing and deploying network services within Thrive Datacentres, client work and consultancy for clients with nonstandard setups and complex requirements, and participation in client DR tests. Candidates should have a CCNP level with a minimum of 5+ years of network engineering and administration experience, and a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field.

Primary Responsibilities

Assist in designing, implementing, and maintaining the regional Thrive Cloud network and internal networking infrastructure; take lead when the network manager is absent.

Research and tailor new networking and security solutions to meet internal and customer business requirements.

Provide on‑call support for network escalations on a rota basis.

Assist in creating technical documentation such as MS Visio network diagrams, high/low level designs, user guides, and knowledge‑base articles.

Frequent visits to datacentres throughout the USA.

Basic Qualifications

Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail.

Experience with multi‑tenant infrastructure – Cisco VRF‑Lite, Fortinet VDOMs, Cisco multi‑context firewalls.

In‑depth understanding of protocols, routing and networking services such as TCP/IPv4, UDP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, SPAN/RSPAN, SNMPv3.

In‑depth understanding of switching technologies such as ARP, PVST, RSTP, MST, LACP, HSRP/VRRP.

Excellent understanding of network routing protocols/applications such as OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, IP SLA.

Route redistribution & filtering, provider independent addressing, ARIN, RIPE.

Site to Site VPNs – IPSec, GRE, DM VPN, Front Door VRF.

Experience deploying next‑gen firewalls – URL/App Filtering, Anti‑Virus, IPS, SSL Decryption.

Experience with networking hardware: Fortinet, Meraki, Palo Alto, Cisco; Cisco ISR/ASR, Nexus 3k / 9k, Catalyst 3750/3850/9300, Meraki Wireless.

WAN connectivity – Internet and Point‑to‑Point circuits.

Exposure to VMware hosts and SANs, and experience with Disaster Recovery tests.

Experience working in a datacenter environment (racking, stacking, cabling, SmartHands, cross‑connects).

Accurate design and documentation of client infrastructure.

Experience with monitoring platforms such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Nable.
