Inova Alexandria Hospital is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Labor and Delivery Unit. This role will be full-time night shift 3x12 hour shifts per week, 7:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance eligible.

Registered Nurse (RN) Job Responsibilities
Provides safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care in a patient- and family-centered manner.
Performs thorough patient assessments, interprets data, and identifies care priorities.
Develops and implements individualized plans of care to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Evaluates patient progress, anticipates changes, and adjusts care plans accordingly.
Coordinates care and discharge planning with the healthcare team and community resources.
Advocates for patients' rights and ensures their needs and preferences are respected.
Maintains accurate and timely documentation in compliance with standards.
Collaborates and communicates effectively with physicians, nurses, and other disciplines.
Serves as a clinical resource, mentor, and preceptor to peers and new staff.
Engages in professional growth, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
Required Education:
BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate's Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
Required Experience:
A minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse clinical experience in the acute care setting.
Required Certification:
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start | For Critical Care Units: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support - Within 6 Months | For Pediatric Units: Pediatric Advanced Life Support- Within 6 Months | For Infusion Center Units: Obtain chemo card- within 3 months of hire
Licensure Requirement:
Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state Registered Nurse license
Preferred Qualifications
Proficient in Epic
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Two years of recent RN experience in a Labor & Delivery unit
