Surgical Technologist – Hanford (Evening Shift) Full Time, 8‑Hour Evening Shift (1100‑1930), $7,500 Sign On Bonus

Job Description Located in a tight‑knit community in Kings County, Adventist Health Hanford has been serving the Central Valley since 1965. The hospital is a 173‑bed facility with many outpatient clinics offering primary and specialty care services. Hanford residents enjoy historic charm and a family‑friendly atmosphere, and within an hour’s travel you can visit Yosemite, Sequoia, and Kings Canyon National Parks.

Job Summary Facilitate the physician’s performance of invasive, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures. Handle instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure, ensuring quality patient care and constant monitoring of the sterile field.

Job Requirements

Associate Degree or Certificate of Program Completion in Surgical Technology: Required

Relevant acute care experience: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications

National Board of Surgical Technologists or Association of Surgical Technologists certification: Preferred

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS‑BLS OR RQIBLS) certification: Preferred

Facility Specific License/Certifications

Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS‑BLS OR RQI BLS) certification: Required

Tech in Surgery (NCCT‑ST) or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST): Required

Essential Functions

Verify surgery with consent forms, bring patient to the assigned operating room, and pass instruments to the surgeon during the procedure. Anticipate the surgeon’s needs for additional supplies. Perform appropriate counts with the circulator before incision and before closure. Prepare and secure sterile dressings.

Check supplies and equipment needed for the surgical procedure. Obtain appropriate sterile and unsterile items. Set up the sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions. Help drape the sterile field.

Clean and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization. Assist other team members with cleaning the room for turnover and pre‑prep the room for the next patient.

Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
