Mercy Medical Center Merced is a Level II Trauma Center with 6 operating room suites on the main campus and an additional 6 suites at the Mercy Medical Pavilion. We provide a full range of surgical services, including outpatient surgery next to the hospital, with specialties in orthopedics, gastroenterology, gynecology, and others. The department typically performs 8-15 cases per day.
Responsibilities
Provide system-wide strategic and operational leadership for perioperative nursing services across Dignity Health.
Design, integrate, and coordinate surgical services, ensuring consistent quality and patient safety standards.
Direct the provision of perioperative care, maintain high standards of patient care, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
Develop and operationalize standard processes related to surgical services.
Collaborate with key leaders and departments to establish system goals, action plans, and program evaluation.
Qualifications Education and Experience
Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive experience in a health‑care system or hospital, directing patient care activities in surgical services. Five (5) years of leadership experience managing a variety of patient‑care services in a complex surgical environment.
Master’s degree in a related field (MSN, MBA, MHA) from an accredited institution or a medical degree (MD/DO) with board certification in surgery or anesthesiology.
Licensure
State‑approved clinical degree (RN, MD, DO) in the state of practice.
