LHH Recruitment Solutions is hiring a Senior MEP Engineering Designer for our client in the Orlando, FL area. This direct hire role supports an engineering career within a fast‑paced firm in the commercial construction industry. Minimum 10‑years experience required in HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and structural engineering. EIT or PE highly preferred. Salary range: $100‑110 k annually. Location: Orlando, FL.
Responsibilities
Ensure completion of tasks by overseeing directives to technicians, vendors, and supervisors.
Create design of all phases – conceptual, schematic, development, and construction documentation.
Oversee project budget, capex management, coordinate projects, initiate corrective actions, and forecast/analyze long‑term operational downtime and/or issues.
Lead design efforts and oversee junior engineer design efforts.
Maintain compliance with construction building codes, zoning, etc.
Prepare and present 3D modeling, renderings and presentations to clients and regulatory divisions.
Develop initiatives and use a technical approach to oversee process resolution and continuous improvement toward improved production, reduced costs, and reliability.
Oversee design projects; review project specifications; analyze design and ensure monetary goals are met by performing preliminary and final reviews for construction projects.
Manage the design team in a manner that supports teamwork and development while providing technical leadership on maintenance issues.
Use safe working policies and practices consistently.
Represent the organization to vendors, clients and agencies in a professional manner.
Conduct on‑site visits to oversee project progress.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering.
EIT or PE highly preferred.
Proven commercial construction project management of multi‑million‑dollar scope.
Minimum 10 years of experience in MEP commercial construction design.
Ability to demonstrate exceptional leadership skills, utilization of situational leadership, servant leadership and the creation of a vision for the department.
Proven management and leadership skills.
Proven knowledge of engineering calculations, layout, and design of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection and Structural/Architectural.
Experience collaborating with mechanical, structural, electrical, instrumentation, HVAC, geotech, survey, etc. teams internally and externally.
Proven proficiency in using CAD programs – Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.
Proven proficiency in using 3D programs – V‑Ray, Lumion, etc.
